  1. 2021-07-12

    ASA pathway overhaul announced: SOA announced revised ASA requirements, including new micro-credentials and a transition plan that preserved candidate credit.

  2. 2022-09

    Revised Probability exam launched: The revised Probability exam began its first administration in September 2022 as part of the new ASA pathway.

  3. 2022-10

    Revised Financial Mathematics exam launched: The revised Financial Mathematics exam began in October 2022 with a shorter 2.5-hour format.

  4. 2025

    CERA ERM requirement updated: SOA said CFE 101 will replace the ERM exam in the CERA path and that the ERM module will be revised after December 31, 2025.

    FSA pathway becomes flexible: SOA moved FSA from specialty tracks to a flexible course model with four technical courses, DMAC, and FAC.

  6. 2026

    FSA course cadence increases: SOA said high-demand FSA courses will be offered three times per year starting in 2026, with grading turnaround shortened to four weeks.
